Summoner Spells That Fit
The reasoning for each is on the summoner spells page. You may only bring one per match, and the best choice shifts with the enemy draft.
Arcana Build That Fits
Fate is the only one of the ten red arcana that leans defensive, which makes it the default here.
This is a role-wide recommendation, not one tuned for this hero specifically.

Counters & Synergies
Countered-by and synergy picks are this site's own reading, based on each hero's kit. What the official app publishes is how often heroes are picked together (see "Frequently Paired With" below); it does not publish any rating of how well they match up.
Frequently Paired With
The figures are the "match rate" published by the official in-game HoK Camp: how often these heroes ended up on the same team (fetched 2026-08-14). It is not a win rate, so a higher number does not mean a stronger pairing.
Popular Item Builds
The order matches the in-game display. The win rate covers matches played with that build, so player skill is mixed in. Taken on 2026-08-25.
Skills

Passive Skill: Warrior's Soul
When in combat, Lian Po gains Battle Spirit continuously, and his Basic Attacks and skills grant more Battle Spirit on hit. Battle Spirit provides 0-20% damage reduction (based on the value of Battle Spirit). At max Battle Spirit, his Attack Speed is increased by 30%.
When out of combat, Battle Spirit diminishes over time, and is converted to 70(70 + 1.5% Health)Health recovery each time it diminishes, for up to 10 times in total.

Skill 1: Burst Ram
Passive: Lian Po's every third Basic Attack is a heavy strike that deals 250 (250 + 100% extra physical attack) extra physical damage.

After 1s, the ground splits, dealing 350 (350 + 90% extra physical attack) physical damage to enemies. Enemies closer to the epicenter take more damage, up to an extra 100%. If any enemies are within range when charging begins, Skill 1's Cooldown is reset.

Strategy Guide
A tank who is super-armored during every skill — crowd control simply does not apply. His Battle Spirit stacks make him tougher as brawls drag on, plowing the enemy line in repeated passes.
Best for: Players who want to execute their plan straight through enemy CC — the gear that never breaks.
Each slam is steered with the movement wheel, so drop the first two slows where the target wants to run. Skill 1 stays available mid-Skill 3 — dash back in if they slip out, then land the third slam's 1s launch. Skill 2 finishes: the shield goes up while the ground splits.
If an enemy is inside the zone as the charge begins, Skill 1's cooldown comes straight back. Use that dash to launch them for 0.5s near the epicenter, where the blast hits hardest. Skill 2 never locks you out of anything, so keep swinging and cash in the third-hit heavy strike.
These combos are not official data. They are this site's own write-up, built only from the skill data transcribed from the in-game display; nothing that the skill text does not state is included.
- •Super armor during every skill animation lets him engage straight through enemy CC
- •Battle Spirit stacks make him tankier as fights drag on — brawls are his home turf
- •Skill 2 refunds Skill 1 when it catches an enemy, fueling relentless in-and-out pressure
- •Battle Spirit converts to HP out of combat, so he re-enters fights faster than expected
- •With zero Battle Spirit right after spawning, he's far squishier than his frame suggests
- •The Skill 2 blast and the Ultimate's third slam are slow to land and easy for agile enemies to dodge
- •Poor base movement speed means he's often a step late to the fight
Lian Po starts the clash lane weaker than he looks. His Battle Spirit gauge is empty at level 1, so the damage reduction from his Passive isn't online yet — don't force extended trades before level 3. Instead, take short exchanges with the Skill 1 dash and the third-hit heavy strike from its passive, and soak waves behind the Skill 2 shield. Here's the trick: if an enemy is standing inside your Skill 2 charge zone, Skill 1's cooldown resets instantly, so you win trades on sheer number of touches. Once you hit level 4, rotate to the river for the 4:00 Tyrant and play knock-up bot next to your jungler.
Around the eight-minute mark, with two defensive items done, Lian Po gets to start fights on his own terms. You have super armor for the entire duration of your skill animations, so enemy stuns and knock-ups simply don't matter mid-cast — that's your license to dive. Drop out of a mid-lane brush with your Ultimate, use the first two slams to cut off the escape route, and land the third-slam knock-up on your real target. Win or lose the skirmish, leaving combat converts your Battle Spirit into HP, so you arrive at the next objective healthy. When teams start shadowboxing before Shadow Tyrant, volunteer to be the one who face-checks brushes.
Past ten minutes, when Shadow Tyrant and Overlord decide games, your entire job comes down to one decision: who eats the first hit. Before the fight breaks out, smack a nearby minion or jungle camp to pre-stack Battle Spirit, so you enter with the damage reduction and attack speed already rolling. Your Ultimate lets you adjust the slam position through the first two hits — aim the third slam where the enemy is running to, not where they are, and it stops missing. You don't need kills; peeling two enemy backliners out of the fight is a full day's work. The one true loss condition is overchasing and dying alone.
The dream engage is a Skill 3 that clips two or three members of the enemy midline. Land, then start charging Skill 2 on the spot — any enemy inside the zone refunds Skill 1 instantly, and the 15% slow while charging drags out their retreat. The blast hits hardest at the epicenter, so the closer you plant yourself, the better it pays. One caveat: the pull only grabs non-hero units. Enemy heroes never get dragged in, so the clumping has to come from your own footwork. Dash, charge, dash again — that loop draws enemy fire onto you while carving their formation in half. You're there to split the fight, not to secure kills; leave those to your carries. When your HP dips, disengage for a moment, let Battle Spirit convert back into HP, then walk right back in. From the enemy's side, the tank they thought they killed just keeps coming back.
